POSITION OVERVIEW
Under the supervision of the Lab Supervisor and/or Chemist, the Lab Technician I will be responsible for preparing and analyzing samples from various areas within the mining operation. This position involves utilizing established sample preparation methods and analytical chemistry techniques to ensure accurate and timely reporting of daily production assay results.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Prepare and analyze samples following established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) while managing multiple tasks efficiently to meet strict deadlines.
- Independently plan and perform analytical work.
- Validate, document, and report results through the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
- Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
- Monitor inventory and ensure adequate supplies of reagents and materials.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to chemical hygiene practices.
- Provide technical support to the staff and other departments as needed.
- Responsible for executing, supporting, and enforcing the Company's Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) program as required by OIS policy, directives, and principles.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
- Assist Mine Engineering Technicians with sample preparation and collection as needed.
- Assist Chemist with tasks/projects as needed.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Aptitude to learn software, instrumentation, and analytical techniques.
- Ability to make basic mathematical calculations.
- Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications.
- A desire to work as a team member and help others.
- Good communication skills.Â

- Must have excellent computer skills.
- Ability to learn new software, analytical techniques, and instrumentation.
- Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Capacity to adapt and work effectively in a fast-paced laboratory setting.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Technical school and/or associate degree preferred.
- Technical knowledge of mining processes is highly desirable.
- Hands-on experience with analytical instrumentation and techniques is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with common sample preparation techniques is highly desirable.
- English language fluency.
- At least CEFR B2 - Upper Intermediate: Can understand the main ideas of complex text on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in their field of specialization.
