The Senior Data Scientist delivers analytical solutions using programming, data mining, statistics, machine-learning, AI, and visualization techniques. Collaborates with internal stakeholders to understand complex analytical needs, constructing analytic datasets using SQL, building and deploying machine-learning models, and communicating findings through presentations and dashboards. Writes clean, performant, and reusable code to train and deploy models in cloud and on-premises environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Proposes data science solutions and strategies to internal stakeholders (e.g., Revenue Management, Asset Management, etc.) to address business problems ensuring solutions are feasible to implement and align with organizational objectives.
  • Analyzes large, complex datasets from internal and external sources to identify trends and patterns. Evaluates effectiveness and recommends necessary improvements to optimize profitability and key objectives.
  • Researches and devises innovative statistical models for data analysis. Builds predictive models, neural networks, and machine-learning algorithms. Combine models through ensemble modeling.
  • Partners with various internal stakeholders to understand business needs, document business requirements, and develop solutions to support objectives and efficiencies.
  • Presents information using data visualization techniques to identify patterns, trends, relationships, and outliers.
  • Designs and builds data provisioning workflows, pipelines, physical data schemas, extracts, and transformations using ETL and microservices to clean, prepare, model, and engineer existing marketing and revenue management data for use in data science databases and pricing software.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Finance and/or a related field required.
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Finance and/or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Data Scientist with a focus on anomaly detection, machine learning and manipulating data in Spark or Databricks.
  • Advanced proficiency with SQL and Python including packages such as NumPy, Pandas, SK-learn, XGBoost. Experiences of Deep Learning or generative AI are preferred.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook. PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with Azure/AWS infrastructure and support, preferred.
  • Familiarity with TensorFlow/Keras, preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, planning, analysis and organizing skills.
  • Strong quantitative, math and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent critical thinking skills.
  • Willingness and ability to take a proactive leadership role on projects.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to interface effectively with management team.
  • Familiarity with statistical and machine learning methods.
  • Intermediate experience with other BI tools such as Power BI and Tableau, preferred.
  • Create visualizations to effectively communicate project results and findings.
  • Ability to listen, analyze and use discretion to make effective decisions.
  • Willingness and ability to build relationships with other team members and drive projects forward.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time without compromising attention to detail.
  • Adaptability to adapt and pivot with changing environments.
  • Advanced understanding of data security best practices.
  • Advanced understanding of systems and data integration.

Compensation

The anticipated pay range/scale for this position is $121,116.00 - $151,395.00 annually. Actual starting base pay within this range will depend on factors including geographic location, education, training, skills, and relevant experience.

Additional Compensation

This position is eligible to receive a discretionary annual bonus.

The Company provides 9 paid holidays per year, and, upon hire, new employees will accrue paid time off (PTO) at a rate of 0.0577 hours of PTO per hour worked, up to a maximum of 120 hours per year.
