About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to help shape and advance the core architecture of a next-generation semiconductor design platform. In this role, you will play a key technical part in expanding data representations, system-level APIs, and high-performance execution engines optimized for complex 3D Heterogeneous Integration (3DHI) and programmatic workflows. You will partner with domain experts across physical layout, schematic verification, and simulation to enhance flexible, high-throughput systems that bridge high-level design intent with multi-physics verification engines. If you thrive on solving complex system modeling challenges, scaling software infrastructure, and guiding technical decision-making within a collaborative engineering environment, this position offers the opportunity to drive meaningful impact on our advanced EDA architecture.

Responsibilities

  • Architectural Strategy & Technical Ownership: Drive key technical decisions, platform design, and long-term architectural evolution for core packaging engines, balancing system trade-offs across backend infrastructure and data representations.
  • Programmatic & Interoperability Interfaces: Design and maintain scalable APIs, data-exchange layers, and execution pipelines that support code-first design flows, automated layout/schematic generation, and advanced multi-agent execution frameworks.
  • Integration Frameworks: Help architect extensible, decoupled integration interfaces to enable smooth, low-latency interoperability with both internal solvers and third-party simulation tools (multiphysics, SI/PI, and DRC/LVS engines).
  • Headless Infrastructure & Performance Optimization: Optimize high-throughput runtime engines for automated design-space exploration, batch execution, and deterministic performance in programmatic, headless operational environments.
  • Design Rule & System Verification: Develop robust validation loops, constraint-checking mechanisms, and system-level observability to ensure programmatically generated designs consistently satisfy physical and manufacturability requirements.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration & Technical Mentorship: Partner closely with domain specialists, systems leads, and engineering teams to establish design standards, review complex codebases, and guide execution across the platform.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related technical field.
  • 8+ years of software development experience, including 2+ years in software architecture
  • Strong expertise in C++ and/or Rust.
  • Demonstrated experience architecting complex data structures for large-scale engineering applications.
  • Strong background in building low-latency, high-throughput backend services, or multi-threaded/concurrent data engines.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive consensus on complex technical design trade-offs, author clear architecture specifications, and guide large feature initiatives across cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Deep commitment to software quality, including automated test frameworks, deterministic build environments, CI/CD pipelines, and rigorous code-review practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong proficiency in Python, with experience in C++/Rust integration
  • Experience designing validation frameworks, rule-checking engines, and telemetry to track state changes and catch constraint violations early.
  • Familiarity with programmatic interaction patterns or multi-agent execution frameworks designed to handle complex, iterative automation loops.
  • Familiarity with electronic design and packaging abstractions, such as schematic connectivity, physical layout hierarchies, netlisting, or multi-die 2.5D/3D packaging concepts.

The level of role will be based on applicable experience, education and skills; Most offers will be between the minimum and the midpoint of the Salary Range listed below.
