About the Role
The Journeyman Plumber plays a crucial role in ensuring the proper functioning of plumbing and drain systems for residential and commercial properties. This position involves performing diagnostic evaluations, proposing solutions, and completing installations and repairs to ensure customer satisfaction. The role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments to achieve business objectives
What You'll Do
- Diagnostic Evaluations: Perform on-site diagnostic evaluations of plumbing and drain systems using approved equipment and processes
- Installations and Repairs: Perform installations and repairs of plumbing and drain systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards and building codes
- Customer Communication: Maintain communication with customers to provide updates on service progress and address any concerns
- Technical Support: Provide technical support to customers and technicians, ensuring they have the necessary information and resources to complete tasks
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety standards and regulations, ensuring a safe work environment for all team members
- Collaboration: Work closely with the plumbing team to ensure proper installation and repair of plumbing and drain systems
- Quality Control: Conduct quality control checks to ensure installations and repairs meet company standards and customer expectations
- Documentation: Prepare and maintain accurate documentation of service processes, including work orders, invoices, and customer records
- Training and Development: Implement and oversee training programs for plumbing technicians to ensure they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge
What You'll Need
- Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Plumbing Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; or five to ten years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Certifications & Licenses: Journeyman Plumber License, EPA 608 Certification, and OSHA 30 Certification.
- Technical & Professional Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose HVAC system issues, interpret technical information, evaluate repair options, and exercise sound judgment. Ability to prioritize multiple service calls, maintain accurate documentation, communicate effectively with customers and team members, and deliver quality service in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, reach, lift, and carry materials while working in confined spaces, at heights, and in varying indoor and outdoor weather conditions. Comfortable working around mechanical equipment, electrical components, moving machinery, noise, dust, and other conditions commonly associated with HVAC service work while following all safety policies and procedures.
Physical Requirements
This is an active, hands-on field role requiring frequent standing, walking, lifting up to 50 lbs., bending, climbing, kneeling, and working in confined spaces or at heights. Work is performed at residential and commercial customer locations in varying weather conditions and around mechanical equipment while following all company safety policies and industry regulations.
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Saturday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (rotating shifts as scheduled)
Compensation & Benefits
Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
