The Third Judicial District is accepting applications for a service-oriented Court Operations Associate to join the Houston County Court Administration team.
This is a fast-paced, detail-orientated position that provides excellent service to members of the public, judges, and justice partners and performs advanced court clerical, administrative, and technical work. This required the application of specialized knowledge of procedures, records, and regulations in Houston County District Court Administration. Work involves responsibility for court case processing and is performed independently in accordance with established laws, standard practices, regulations, policies and procedures, and requires independent judgment in interpreting these as it relates to day-to-day activities.
The work location for this position is the Houston County Courthouse located at 306 South Marshall, Suite 2100, Caledonia, MN 55921.
What You Will DoÂ
The following are examples of major job duties expected of this position:Â
- Perform the full range of court operation work that may involve responsibility for a specific area of court case processing Â
- Perform a variety of advanced clerical functions and multiple case typesÂ
- Provide assistance to attorneys, parties, self-represented litigants, judges, and the public by responding to a variety of questions in-person, over the phone, by mail, and/or electronicallyÂ
- Provide courtroom support by working with judges, court reporters, and other justice partnersÂ
- Review, enter, record, and update case information using an electronic case processing system and related applications and equipmentÂ
- Schedule and maintain court calendarsÂ
- Receive, process, and receipt payments due to the courtÂ
- Attend court and assist by calling cases, taking notes, and handling documents in the courtroomÂ
- May perform the duties of an Electronic Recording Equipment Operator (EREO) including recording and monitoring court proceedingsÂ
- Performs courtroom clerical duties; prepares case files for court; checks people in, hosts Zoom for remote calendars as needed, swears in witnesses; live updates court files and completes other case processing as needed.

- High school diploma or equivalent
- One (1) year of relevant job experience or greater, which may include but is not limited to customer service, administrative work, office, and clerical work.
