Outbound Short Runner

The associate will retrieve product that is not available during the selection process and accurately places products on shorted selection pallet or trailer. The associate will operate reach forklift in the replenishment process by lowering stock from high-level reserve slots to lower level pick slots during the shift. Responsibilities include stocking, selecting and loading product that is not available during the selection process; documentation of inventory control issues such as replenishment forces and slotting recommendations; safety and administrative functions including attendance of safety meetings, pre-shift stretches, pre and post-trip inspections of Material Handling Equipment (MHE), donning and doffing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and work area clean-up. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, minimum 1-year warehouse experience, preferred Sysco or high volume distribution experience, minimum 6 months warehouse reach forklift experience, and pallet jack and forklift certification preferred. Professional skills required include strong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, preferred knowledge of inventory control techniques and procedures, product lines and dimensions, Sysco safety and security policies, and warehouse equipment operation. The role requires managing pressure in a deadline-oriented atmosphere, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and demonstrated ability to operate powered industrial reach truck, forklift, tugger, and pallet jack. Physical demands include regularly sitting, standing, walking, using hands and fingers for computer and telephone operation, frequently reaching with hands and arms, and lifting 30-50 pounds regularly, 75 pounds occasionally, and 100 pounds rarely.
