PROCESS MANUFACTURING ENGINEER

We are currently seeking a Process Manufacturing Engineer, Industrial Engineer, or Continuous Improvement Engineer for our fast-paced manufacturing operations. This position is for the 1st shift, regularly scheduled Monday - Friday, with occasional weekend call-ins. There are immediate advancement opportunities for those with the desire, the initiative, and that perform above expectations.


This position requires the ability to (this is not a complete job description):


The Process Manufacturing Engineer position is responsible for providing technical support, process knowledge, continuous improvement, and production R&D. The incumbent will also develop and implement new processes and procedures, as well as continuously work on existing processes to reduce cost and improve quality. Must have the ability to collaborate with multiple teams including production technicians, plant maintenance, engineering, manufacturing, quality, and safety. This position requires understanding of lean six sigma manufacturing principles, process automation, continuous improvement, and strong troubleshooting abilities. Must be able to collect and analyze data, develop standard operating procedures, and train others.


Job Description


  • Learn and understand Apache’s manufacturing, quality, and safety processes.
  • Troubleshoot existing production systems.
  • Design, build, implement and improve process parameters and flow, to optimize the cost, quality, and production lead time.
  • Lead continuous improvement activities and trainings.
  • Evaluate quality control processes and make recommendations for improvements in quality control.
  • Analyze production processes, schedules, methods, and other data and then provide management with reports containing the data and statistics to enable management to better understand future requirements needed for the manufacturing process.
  • Ensure that the company’s manufacturing processes follow all government laws and regulations.
  • Review and calculate labor, material, and other production costs along with reviewing schedules and future production requirements to assist management in decision making.
  • Analyze and plan workflow, equipment placement, and space requirements to improve manufacturing efficiency.
  • Coordinate equipment maintenance and repair services and make sure that machine procedures and instructions are followed to keep production equipment operational.
  • Participate in training and work instructions for operators.


 Requirements


  • Engineering degree and/or technical background equivalent
  • 2+ years’ experience in manufacturing industry
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing techniques such as quick changeover, failure proofing, visual management. Lean Six Sigma experience is optimal.
  • Experience in implementation of TPM and predictive maintenance is desirable.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, World Class Manufacturing or Toyota Production System
  • Experience in rubber mat manufacturing is an asset.
  • Other skills and hands-on experience are a plus.
