DESCRIPTION sUMMARY

Perform regular facility maintenance and complete repairs on buildings, grounds, and equipment. Complete other tasks such as general landscaping or fixing machinery, plumbing, heating, and wiring. Inspect buildings to confirm safety standards are being met. Coordinate with Production and Maintenance Management on identifying, planning, and scheduling major repairs.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide support on repairs and major overhauls to system components, and associated equipment, utilizing original equipment manufacturers recommendations and specifications and/or other recognized and generally accepted good engineering practices.
  • Assist in maintaining and monitoring plant boiler systems.
  • Maintain and monitor plant HVAC systems.
  • Observe and maintain air compressors.
  • Maintain plant freshwater and make up water systems.
  • Analyze system data and trending values to determine the need for increased maintenance frequencies or improved maintenance procedures and safe work practices.
  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair equipment in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations.
  • Conduct tests to check performance and safety of equipment.
  • Perform troubleshooting and corrective maintenance related to equipment, including inspecting, operating, or testing machinery or equipment to diagnose electrical and mechanical malfunctions.
  • Maintain records of maintenance and repair activities.
  • Test and document the proper operating parameters of equipment.
  • Review and complete work orders timely, conducting necessary maintenance or repairs as needed.
  • Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures at all times and ensure all Maintenance Personnel are following LOTO procedures at all times.
  • Maintain positive working relationship with all departments and sustain constant communication with Plant Management regarding any maintenance issues that may arise.
  • Perform continued education and training in related multi-craft skills.
  • Complete daily reports outlining maintenance or repairs conducted over the course of the shift.
  • Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Support all safety, food quality and sanitation initiatives and policies.
  • Follow SugarCreek safety rules and procedures.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.

Other requirements

No unusual physical requirements. Physical requirements are consistent with electrical maintenance positions, including mostly sitting with some standing/walking required. Other light physical activity like using stairs or occasionally moving items weighing less than 50lbs may be required as needed. Some travel may be required in between plants.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Some travel to other locations is required.

Most work is performed in an indoor, manufacturing facility with close proximity to heavy and hazardous machinery. Safety wear is required, including hard hat, hairnet, hearing protection, safety glasses, steel toe boots, coats and other necessary equipment. Some work is performed outside of the manufacturing facility.
