About the Role: Under the immediate supervision of the Director of Nursing, the Assistant Director of Nursing is an integral member of the nursing team, assuring smooth daily operations of the nursing department. 

The Assistant Director of Nursing is responsible for...  

  • Assisting the Chief Nursing officer in directing the activities of licensed and non-licensed personnel who serve on the patient treatment team.
  • Ensure that the highest degree of quality client care is aways maintained in accordance with State and Federal Regulations, facility policies & procedures, and patient directives.

Job Qualifications:  

  • BSN or MSN completed from an accredited school of Nursing and current BLS certification preferred, Nursing License Required
  • At least 5 years prior experience as a nursing leader preferably with hospital and behavioral health experience  
  • Computer proficiency, including EMR
  • Ability to maintain strict client confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
  • Understanding of Substance Use Disorders and Dual Diagnosis
  • Must maintain a positive demeanor and clear understanding of professional boundaries with clients and staff.
  • Ability to follow directives explicitly, adhere to facility policies, and exercise time management skills.
  • Completion of CPR and HWC prior to working the floor
  • Schedule flexibility may be required to accommodate patients
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation. 

  

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Works floor nursing shifts and meal breaks as needed
  • Collaborates with DON and HR for employee disciplinary and corrective action
  • Audits the EMR for patients to ensure timely & accurate nursing documentation
  • Works with licensed practitioner to reconcile client medications along the continuum
  • Documents & educates when medication errors or near misses occur employing a root cause analysis
  • Monitors health record documentation timeliness and accuracy
  • Monitors and maintains HIPAA compliance
  • Ensures OSHA and employee illness or injury procedures are followed
  • Assists with New Employee Orientation
  • Schedules employes and monitors labor hours and overtime
  • Ensures compliance with patient care quality standards and regulatory laws
  • Conducts nursing staff education and competency training 
  • Looks for performance opportunities and ensures PI activities are ongoing
  • Activates the Emergency Management Plan when conditions require
  • Reports unsafe conditions to Executive Leadership
  • Performs appropriate hand hygiene throughout the shift
  • Uses personal protective equipment (PPE) appropriately
  • Implements and improves standards and protocols for nursing department

 
Compensation: $70,000-$85,000/yr
