Overview

Reporting to the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis, the Financial Analyst supports the prospective financial management function and the review and improvement of the related processes and systems. Creates and maintains documentation and reports. Analyzes current and historical financial performance to provide insight into the Company’s past and future financial performance. Works collaboratively to coordinate the efforts and data of key stakeholders. Demonstrates exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

· Analyzes historical and current financial data to understand the Company’s financial performance and position.

· Assists in the preparation and analysis of the organization’s P&L and contribute to understanding budget variances and major drivers.

· Supports the configuration and maintenance of the organization’s rolling forecast.

· Support ongoing balance sheet review and maintenance of key ratios and provide meaningful insights on financial trends.

· Provides analytical, forecasting, reporting, and project support to senior management.

· Produces monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, which include key metrics, financial results, and variance reporting.

· Supports the annual budgeting and monthly financial review processes.

· Works with organizational budget managers to review and update rolling budget throughout the fiscal year.

· Develops the business understanding necessary to provide insightful commentary on financial results and recommendations.

· Model financial scenarios to support new program development and contract amendments.

· Creates and updates related systems and documentation.

· Performs other ad hoc analysis.

· Performs other duties as requested.

Knowledge and Skills:

· Understanding of financials statements, their use and compilation

· Understanding of financial systems and related internal controls

· Strong Excel skills

· Experience with Workday Adaptive strongly preferred

· Ability to work with large datasets

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Effective strategic thinking and organizational skills

· Excellent organization skills and attention to detail

Qualifications

Typical Requirements:Two to five years’ related experience. 

Preferred /Required Education:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. In some cases, experience may be substituted for academic training.

Driving Requirements:Driving is not required. 

Physical Effort:Ability to lift at least 25 pounds using proper lifting techniques.

Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment such as a calculator, copier, and printer.

Ability to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time as needed.

Ability to bend, reach, file, sit, stand and move around the facility.

Ability to speak, hear and communicate with clients, staff and external representatives.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability adjust focus.
