Job Summary
The Plastic Process Technician is responsible for setting up, monitoring and optimizing plastic injection molding (or other plastic processing) equipment to ensure efficient production of high-quality parts. This role supports production by troubleshooting processes, maintaining equipment performance, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Main Responsibilities:
- Set up and start up injection molding machines, auxiliary equipment, and tooling
- Adjust machine parameters (temperature, pressure, cycle time, etc.) to optimize production
- Troubleshot process issues, defects, and equipment malfunctions
- Monitor production runs to ensure quality and efficiency standards are met
- Perform mold changes and ensure proper installation and alignment
- Conduct first-piece and in-process inspections
- Work closely with supervisors, quality, and maintenance teams to resolve issues
- Maintain a clean and organized work area (5s standards)
- Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and company policies
Required Qualifications:Â
Education:
- High School diploma or GED required; technical training preferred
Experience:
- 2+ years’ experience in plastic injection molding or similar manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of molding processes, materials, and machine functions.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents
- Basic mechanical and troubleshooting skills
- Familiarity with robotics and auxiliary equipment is a plus

- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

- Manufacturing/production work setting
- Exposure to moving machinery, heat, and industrial materials
- May require shift work, overtime, and on-call support
