info
  • Alva Energy is seeking a Project Scheduler with 3-5 years of experience in scheduling, project controls, or project planning in complex industrial or energy environments.
  • The role involves developing and managing the integrated master schedule for large nuclear power uprate projects using Oracle Primavera P6.
  • The Project Scheduler will coordinate inputs across various disciplines including engineering, procurement, and construction to ensure project alignment.
  • This position offers a competitive salary, though the specific amount is not mentioned in the job description.
  • Candidates should possess strong analytical skills and be willing to travel to project sites as needed.

Alva Energy develops feasibility studies and executes power uprate programs for the U.S. nuclear fleet, helping existing reactors generate more carbon-free electricity from proven infrastructure. The company’s focus is on unlocking additional power output through technically rigorous uprate solutions that integrate engineering, licensing, construction, and commercial execution.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Project Scheduler to own and manage the integrated master schedule for large nuclear power uprate projects. This is a rare opportunity to join a project that would represent an historic milestone in the U.S. nuclear sector leveraging proven technology to deliver one of the largest extended power uprates of its kind. You will take ownership of the project master schedule, maintaining and significantly expanding an existing schedule framework while integrating inputs across engineering, procurement, construction, licensing, financing, and project development activities. This individual will play a key role not only in executing the initial project, but in helping develop scheduling frameworks that can be duplicated and scaled across future Alva programs.

Role Summary

The Project Scheduler will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing Alva’s integrated project schedule using Primavera P6 and related scheduling tools. This role will coordinate schedule inputs across multiple workstreams including engineering, procurement, licensing, construction, regulatory interfaces, financing, and project execution teams, ensuring alignment across a highly complex nuclear infrastructure project. The ideal candidate is comfortable operating in a fast-moving project environment, proactively gathering information from multiple stakeholders, identifying schedule risks early, and supporting scenario planning to help drive successful project execution.

Primary Duties

Schedule Development & Management

  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve the integrated project master schedule using Oracle Primavera P6 and related scheduling tools.

  • Coordinate schedule inputs and updates from internal teams, contractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders.

  • Support integration of engineering, procurement, construction, licensing, financing, and project development activities into a unified schedule framework.

  • Maintain and significantly expand an existing project schedule structure to support detailed execution planning.

  • Support schedule replication and augmentation frameworks for future Alva uprate projects.

Schedule Analysis & Controls

  • Identify and analyze critical path activities, float consumption, schedule constraints, and execution risks.

  • Perform what-if scenario analysis to support project decision-making and schedule optimization.

  • Recommend mitigation strategies for schedule risks and execution bottlenecks.

  • Support resource leveling, sequencing analysis, and schedule forecasting.

Stakeholder Coordination

  • Proactively gather schedule inputs, activity durations, status updates, and sequencing requirements from relevant stakeholders.

  • Independently obtain and validate schedule data from engineering teams, suppliers, contractors, and project partners.

  • Ensure schedule alignment across project development, regulatory, engineering, financing, and construction interfaces.

Field & Execution Support

  • Conduct field verification of schedule accuracy and support validation of actual project progress against baseline schedules.

  • Support construction and execution teams with schedule updates during active project phases.

  • Travel to project sites, supplier facilities, and company offices as needed to coordinate project schedule information.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3–5 years+ of scheduling, project controls, or project planning experience in complex industrial, infrastructure, energy, or EPC project environments.

  • Hands-on experience with Oracle Primavera P6.

  • Experience supporting integrated schedules across multiple project disciplines.

  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

  • Ability to independently gather, validate, and manage schedule inputs from multiple contributors.

  • Willingness to travel to project sites, supplier facilities, and company offices as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in energy, power generation, industrial infrastructure, or EPC project environments.

  • Familiarity with project scheduling across engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) project lifecycles.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Controls, or related field preferred (not required for highly experienced candidates).

  • Experience supporting construction, commissioning, or start-up schedules.

  • Familiarity with scheduling in regulated or technically complex project environments.

Preferred Skills
