Job DetailsJob Location: Ember Recovery Campus - Cambridge, IA 50046Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: 4 Year DegreeSalary Range: $17.28 - $21.63 HourlyTravel Percentage: Up to 25%Job Shift: DayJob Category: AdministrativeThe Residential Admissions Coordinator is responsible for recruiting and screening appropriate referrals to the YSS Adolescent Residential Treatment Program.  The Manager is responsible for facilitating the transition into the program in a therapeutic manner for both the client and their family.  The Residential Admissions Manager manages all aspects of the admission process for clients into the residential treatment programs.  Direct responsibilities include fielding calls from various sources (e.g., web, direct referrals, etc.), converting a call to admission and then managing the total intake process for the client.  This position is also responsible for developing the processes, policies, procedures and protocols for the YSS Residential admissions department.  The Residential Admissions Coordinator  sets the tone of respect, compassion, and empathy with potential clients and their families. The Residential Admissions Coordinator provides telephonic and in person assessments, provides initial contact with referral sources and potential clients, coordinates the referral and intake process, determines insurance qualifications, gains approval for appropriate level of care and maintains follow-up communication with all parties involved in the client’s care.  These may include the referral source, family, the utilization review company, insurance companies and YSS Stakeholders including the clinical and residential program staff. The Residential Admissions Coordinator is an onsite position in Ames that provides a concierge level of customer service (trusted advocate) to incoming clients and their families.  QualificationsREQUIRED EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE/SKILL A Bachelor's degree in a counseling or related field. Certification by the Iowa Board or Substance Abuse as a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) is required. Two years' experience in human services with emphasis on the care and management of groups of adolescents in a residential setting is required.   Knowledge of addiction, ASAM diagnoses and symptoms, commonly abused substances and their classification, codependency, dual diagnosis and psychiatric conditions as well as understanding of treatment modalities, levels of care and medication used to treat these disorders. Knowledge of admissions functions across a behavioral health program. Knowledge of chemical abuse/dependency assessment and risk assessment tools. Knowledge of crisis and behavior management techniques. Knowledgeable with EMR systems and ability to place client information into the system including diagnosis, admission information, initial treatment plan, contact note, insurance information and client rolodex information.  Strong background in assessment of chemical dependency and mental health disorders and the ability to apply placement criteria, continued stay criteria, and managed care levels of care.   Takes initiative and demonstrates high levels of professionalism, enthusiasm, resourcefulness, and empathy. Experience working with computerized data and analysis is essential.  Prior residential treatment admissions experience preferred or work in the behavioral health field. Strong customer service orientation skills and the ability to embrace and champion a client centered care focus. Supervisory experience is a plus. Ability to multi-task and work effectively with a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining dedication to customer service. Ability to be well-organized in the face of competing demands and ability to work independently and with a team. Experience dealing with commercial insurance and government payers.    Has the ability to negotiate through value options and has strong computer, phone and typing skills.
