Responsibilities:
- Build multi-domain physics models from scratch to predict behavior in novel mechanisms, focusing on electromagnetics, contact mechanics (tribology/wear), kinematics, and soft-material interactions.
- Construct bespoke modeling scripts (Python, MATLAB) and utilize advanced simulation software (COMSOL, FEMM) to explore parameter spaces where standard off-the-shelf modeling tools are insufficient.
- Utilize, develop, and evolve agentic tools and AI-driven methodologies to accelerate physics modeling, automate complex parameter exploration, and pioneer next-generation hardware development.
- Perform detailed calculations and dynamic simulations for actuators, magnetic array topologies, bearing surface selection, and transmission efficiency.
- Partner closely with Controls, Firmware, and Electrical engineers to ensure subsystem models seamlessly integrate into the broader robotic architecture.
