Job Description:

The Associate, Manufacturing Engineer provides night shift support for rocket motor mixing and casting, implementing process improvements to ensure high-quality, on-time delivery. The role involves solving complex, multi-disciplinary technical challenges through creative analysis and prior experience with minimal oversight. Additionally, the engineer must support all onsite propellant and warhead compositions while working toward specific performance goals. 

 

Essential Functions:

  • Senior professional with strong knowledge of job area and broad knowledge of project management.
  • Manages complex projects or processes with general oversight. Communicates within and outside of own function to gain cooperation on operational processes, practices, and procedures.
  • Makes moderate to substantial improvements to systems and processes. Contributes to achievement of departmental goals and operating plans with direct impact on the departmental results.
  • Works to achieve operational targets with direct impact on the departmental results.
  • Investigates and determines root causes of problems, develops and implements corrective and preventive actions.
  • Contributes to the development of goals for the department and planning efforts (budgets, operational plans, etc.).Recommend 8-10 bullet points maximum
  • Minimal travel required.
  • Ability to obtain a US Secret Security Clearance.
  • Ability to work 2nd shift. 

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Computer skills sufficient to generate reports and analyze data using MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and Minitab.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification.
  • Statistical Analysis experience.
  • Understands rocket propulsion component(s) and theory of operation.
  • Experience working with Energetics and DOD contracts.
