Job Description:

 

Rocket Test is looking for a Test Technician that wants to work at one of the most exciting jobs at L3Harris Technologies. The Test Technician classifications perform a variety of technical functions related to production test, test article assembly, and rocket and instrumentation test. This could include but is not limited to: test and checkout of test equipment and test procedure development; install, operate, calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot instrumentation and controls; conduct moves of Test Articles into and out of conditioning chambers and Test Stands.  The correct individual will join a Team that has a Safety First mindset. This is a fast paced job involving testing of all of the Rocket Motors and energetics that are built at our Camden Facility and some from our other facilities around the country. From small motors that can fit in the palm of your hand to Large Solid Propellant Rocket motors that are greater than 20 feet long, Rocket Test is a challenging and exciting place to work.

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Assist experienced Test Technicians with preparation and set up of testing site for rocket motor testing.

  • Under direct guidance from a Test Engineer, load the test motor into the Test Stand.

  • Instrument the test motor per the test plan under direct supervision of engineering team. Solder experience and/or J-STD Solder Certificate a plus.

  • Assist with motor moves into Conditioning Chambers at all hours of day or night as required.

  • Learn to set and program Conditioning Chamber temperature per Test Plan. 

  • Will move moderate weight.

  • Outdoor work will be in both summer and winter conditions.

  • Ability to obtain a US security clearance.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. 

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

 

  • Experience with PLC programming

  • Experience with Military Standard Testing (Mil STD 810)

  • Ability to read and understand blueprints

  • Formal technical education/training

  • Existing certifications/training to operate Forklift is a plus.
