Job Description:

 

L3Harris is looking for experienced Project Engineers for our Production Facility in Camden, AR. The selected candidate(s) will support one or more of the eight available programs. The role of Lead Project Engineer (Responsible Engineer Authority) demands a highly skilled engineer who will represent the engineering Center of Excellence (COE) in evaluating and resolving production program product non-conformances. This individual must possess comprehensive knowledge of all design and performance aspects of their assigned program, enabling them to accurately address non-conforming hardware. Their responsibilities will involve collaboration with a cross-functional team, which includes the assigned Chief Engineer, Project Engineer, Design Engineer, Quality Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, and Product Manager.

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Under general direction, the Lead Project Engineer determines approaches to objectives demonstrating a complete understanding and application of principles, concepts, and practices: 
  • Real time WIP NC prioritization - repair, scrap evaluation / functional coordination.
  • Real time process optimization, Yield improvement support - minimize waste and optimize resource utilization. [TDP Integration, DFMEA / PFMEA Risk management / updates, KC updates / classification, MRL Improvements supporting AOP].
  • Factory specific technical inputs enabling Root Cause and Corrective Action and Sector Systemic Learning.
  • Assist in designing & testing new equipment, processes, procedures and systems.
  • Works on site in Camden supporting critical production programs.
  • Knowledgeable of all design and manufacturing aspects of their assigned program.
  • Technically capable of assessing any and all non-conformances to determine an immediate action (UAI, Rework, Scrap…) in order to keep production moving.
  • Provides Real-time process optimization, Yield improvement support - minimize waste and optimize resource utilization. [TDP Integration, DFMEA / PFMEA Risk management / updates, KC updates / classification, MRL Improvements supporting AOP].
  • Engineering Responsible Authority on root cause and effective corrective actions (RCCA), closely partnered with the Quality organization in determining root cause and effective corrective actions for stated NCs.
  • Manages required engineering analysis support to inform “Design Engineering” dispositions.
  • Knowledgeable of and able to speak to/represent the AR Material Review Board processes.
  • Understands pertinent codes, rules, and regulations related to areas of engineering assignments
  • Use engineering test equipment, CAD, and computer applications with various office and engineering software applications
  • Understands and adheres to Systems Engineering principles in Requirements and Risk & Opportunity management.
  • Familiar with standard engineering tools and practices.
  • Understands theories, principles and practices of engineering and project management methods.
  • Understands rocket propulsion component(s) and theory of operation.
  • Understands safety regulations, principles and practices of work safety.
  • Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant Project Engineering experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related Project Engineering experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related Project Engineering experience.

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

 

  • Proficient in CAD, GD&T, Analysis or Materials.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
  • Ability to quickly assess complex problems, make decisions, and drive closure.
  • Previous experience working root cause and non-conformances.
  • Previous experience in project, materials, process, manufacturing, and/or integration/test engineering.
  • Previous experience designing & testing new equipment, processes, procedures, and systems.
  • Six-Sigma Certification.
