My Auto Store seeking an experienced Parts Production Supervisor to lead our automotive dismantling production line in Camden, NJ. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for supervising dismantlers, coordinating daily production activities, maintaining quality and safety standards, and ensuring the production line operates efficiently. The ideal candidate has automotive experience, strong knowledge of vehicles, and previous supervisory or team leadership experience. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment, directing a team, solving problems on the floor, and holding employees accountable for safety, quality, attendance, and productivity. This position will be worked 6am to 2:30pm Monday through Friday and pays $25/hr.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and provide direction to dismantling personnel throughout the production line.
- Lead the greening, engine preparation, and engine drop processes, ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently.
- Assign employees to production stations based on staffing and production needs.
- Monitor employee attendance and adjust staffing assignments as needed to maintain production flow.
- Oversee the removal of batteries, cutting of Freon lines, removal of catalytic converters, and other vehicle components.
- Direct the removal of small and high-value automotive parts, including headlights, taillights, doors, fenders, hoods, and other components.
- Conduct quality control checks to ensure vehicles are properly processed and hazardous materials and fluids have been appropriately removed.
- Complete daily production-line pre-checks and report equipment or maintenance issues.
- Monitor employees to ensure they remain at their assigned workstations and follow established procedures.
- Communicate daily production expectations, priorities, and performance standards to the team.
- Conduct end-of-shift line checks to ensure equipment and production areas are properly shut down.
- Work closely with the Safety team to conduct safety meetings and ensure employees follow PPE and safety requirements.
- Monitor production performance and communicate team results, challenges, and staffing needs to the Production Manager.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production environment.
- Provide hands-on leadership and coaching to improve employee performance and production efficiency.
Qualifications
- 2–3 years of automotive industry experience required.
- Previous supervisory, team lead, or production leadership experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of automotive vehicles, components, and dismantling processes.
- Ability to identify and understand a wide variety of makes and models.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to direct, motivate, and hold employees accountable.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both employees and management.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage changing production needs, and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining safety and production standards.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
