Job Description:

The Sr. Associate, Manufacturing Engineering will be responsible for implementing moderate enhancements or improvements to systems and processes to solve problems or improve the effectiveness of the job area. This role involves general opportunities for problem-solving and innovation, which may require an understanding of a broader set of issues but typically are not complex. Solutions are often derived from prior experiences and involve analysis of the issues.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Utilize proficient knowledge of the job area and practical knowledge of project management.
  • Manage projects or processes with general supervision.
  • Communicate with contacts inside and outside of the department to explain and interpret operational processes, practices, and procedures.
  • Recommend enhancements to systems and processes.
  • Work to achieve operational targets for specific programs and projects with moderate impact on departmental results.
  • Operate under general supervision and may be responsible for entire projects or processes within the job area.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and training to other employees within the job area.
  • Manage projects at this level with responsibility for delegating work and reviewing others' work products.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

Practical knowledge of project management is a plus

Effective communication with contacts within and outside of own department

May occasionally have responsibility for communicating with parties external to the organization (e.g., customers, vendors, etc.)

Ability to explain and interpret processes and procedures to others within and outside the job area

Capable of working to justify and gain cooperation regarding processes, practices, and procedures
