WSP is currently initiating a search for an Early Career Mechanical or Civil Engineer for our Fort Mill, SC office. Be involved in projects with our Power Delivery Overhead Transmission Line Department and be a part of a growing organization that meets our clients' objectives and solves their challenges. Â The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of transmission line design for new lines, relocations, upgrades, and fiber optic additions.

Your Impact
- Support a variety of engineering tasks with the goal to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.Â
- Learn basic principles of Civil/Structural/Mechanical Engineering.Â
- Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.Â
- Support preparation of final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates.Â
- Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.Â
- Complete training on assigned tasks.Â
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.Â
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.Â

Who You Are
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, or closely related discipline.
- Demonstrated interest in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, or related field, and have a strong desire to advance skills related to WSP’s work and projects.Â
- Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.Â
- Capable of taking direction from leadership, mentors, and managers to executive projects.Â
- Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools.Â
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.Â
- Authorization to work in the United States at the start of the internship. Â

Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum 2.75Â Grade Point Average (GPA)
- Ideal coursework includes structural analysis, concrete, steel, soils, foundations, and surveying.
- Attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills will be critical for the successful completion of tasks.
- Prior internship and/or related designing, drafting, or engineering experience is a plus
- Students who have passed or are scheduled to take the FE/EIT exam will be strongly considered for this position
- Familiarity with design, drafting, or engineering software such as MATHCAD, SOLIDWORKS, AUTOCAD, and SharePoint is beneficial
- Prior internship and leadership involvement on campus. Â
- Engineer In Training (EIT) registration is desired
