We are a premier pillow manufacturing company seeking an experienced, highly organized Full Charge Bookkeeper for our facility in Fort Lawn, SC. In this role, you will independently manage all local financial operations and maintain our general ledger. Because your supervisor, the Chief Financial Officer, is located at our New York City headquarters, you must be a self-starter who thrives working autonomously. You will ensure accurate cost accounting, manage inventory tracking, and consistently meet strict monthly reporting deadlines.
Responsibilities
• Full Cycle Bookkeeping: Manage all daily financial transactions, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing.
• General Ledger Management: Maintain an accurate and complete general ledger, including preparing adjustments and journal entries.
• Manufacturing & Cost Accounting: Track raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), finished pillow inventory, and cost of goods sold (COGS).
• Financial Reporting: Prepare timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for review by the CFO.
• Reconciliations: Perform monthly bank, credit card, and vendor reconciliations.
• Compliance & Taxes: Manage local and state sales tax compliance, payroll tax filings, and preparation for year-end tax reporting.
• Independent Coordination: Serve as the primary financial contact for the Fort Lawn facility, communicating seamlessly with the NYC corporate office.
Qualifications
• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience as a Full Charge Bookkeeper, specifically within a manufacturing or production environment.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred (or equivalent verified experience).
• High proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Enterprise, NetSuite, or Sage) and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong understanding of inventory valuation, bill of materials (BOM), and variance analysis.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate across departments.
• Strong time-management skills to consistently meet corporate financial reporting deadlines set by the CFO.
• Laser-focused accuracy in data entry and financial tracking to prevent costly inventory errors.
• Proven ability to work autonomously with minimal daily physical supervision.
• Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple physical and digital records simultaneously.
