WSP is currently recruiting for a Senior Transmission Line Engineer to join our Overhead Transmission Design team. Candidates may elect to work from any of our Southeast regional offices, located in Alabama, Georgia, Florida, the Carolinas, or Virginia, or choose a remote or hybrid arrangement from a mutually agreed-upon location. This role offers a flexible work schedule, with both full-time and part-time employment options available. Â

Your Impact
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading, supporting, and coordinating the following:Â
Project Support Â
Lead the initial project execution layout to ensure an efficient and effective project plan has been establishedÂ
Manage engineers, drafters, and designers on engineering projects and interface directly with the clientÂ
Responsible for creating and maintaining a project schedule and budgetÂ
Conduct weekly or bi-weekly project meetings to clearly outline upcoming deliverables and tasks with responsible personnel identifiedÂ
Coordinate with clients on project status and support project meetings as necessaryÂ
Maintain project workflow and thorough communication across multi-discipline projects, both internal and external to POWERÂ
Forecast upcoming project requirements to assist in resource planningÂ
Facilitate and adhere to POWER’s QA/QC procedure to ensure the correct personnel is performing the required QA/QC reviewÂ
Participate in industry conferences, both internal and external, to improve professional growth while fostering knowledge transfer to colleaguesÂ
Develop Transmission Line design knowledge pertaining to PLS-CADD, structure staking, foundations, assembly drawings, steel pole performance loading, material procurement, construction specification, and construction supportÂ
 Project Manager Support Â
Maintain project status reportsÂ
Provide weekly or bi-weekly project updates and project forecastingÂ
Lead and/or support PM by meeting with clients, both in-person and remotelyÂ
Develop client relationships allowing POWER the opportunity to position ourselves to win future workÂ
Department Manager Support Â
Support resource forecast planning for upcoming and current project loadsÂ
Participate in new hire screening and review processesÂ
Provide business improvement methodologies and proceduresÂ
Discuss project and/or department personnel conflicts, performance issues, and collaborate on a suitable approach to constructively provide a successful resolution  Â
Contribute to Business Planning and Budgeting
Â
Who You Are
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or closely related discipline (or equivalent experience).Â
Engineer license required (multi-state preferred).Â
10+ years of relevant post-education experience in engineering and civil design.Â
The candidate must have a strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel.Â
Experience using the Microsoft Office software suiteÂ
At least 10 years of experience in the design of overhead High Voltage and Extra High Voltage transmission lines including route selection, line and structure spotting, structure design and analysis, and development of construction bid packagesÂ
Candidate must have extensive knowledge in PLS-Cadd. Â
Experience managing projects and leading multi-disciplined teamsÂ
Preferred Education/Experience  Â
Electric utility industry experienceÂ
Distribution design experienceÂ
Experience using POLE, TOWER and FAD Tools software packagesÂ
Cost estimating and schedulingÂ
Experience using L-Pile and Microsoft ProjectsÂ
