Job Summary:

This position is located in Memphis, TN - We are seeking a proficient Dispatcher to join our team at TransOne. This role is key to coordinating the movement of freight, managing driver schedules, and ensuring timely delivery of goods while effectively communicating with customers. The ideal candidate will have a background in trucking or the intermodal industry and will be able to thrive in a fast-paced dynamic environment. You will be a vital role in servicing our customers and supporting our drivers and contractors.  You will use the resources available to triage, plan, and distribute work to available drivers & contractors.  This position is required to be on-site daily in the Memphis, TN office location. 


Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Employment eligibility will be verified through E-Verify, and a background check is required.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule and dispatch drivers to appropriate locations according to customer requests, specifications, or needs.
  • Monitor and track the status of shipments and deliveries.
  • Communicate proactively with drivers, customers, and other stakeholders regarding updates and issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, driver logs, and shipment details.
  • Coordinate with third parties to ensure smooth operations and timely deliveries.
  • Handle urgent situations and provide solutions to minimize disruptions.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Utilize dispatch software and other tools to optimize routes and improve efficiency.
  • Address customer inquiries professionally and promptly, maintaining positive relationships and high customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Assist with special projects and ad-hoc reporting requests from management.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to streamline operations and customer service.


Qualifications:

  • A positive attitude, willingness to learn
  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Business Administration required, with a concentration in logistics, supply chain, or international business preferred.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of industry experience.
  • Skills:
    • Experience Profit Tools (transportation management system)
    • Experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
    • Diligence with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Physical Requirements: 
    • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
    • Excellent communication and critical thinking skills.
