The primary purpose of this position is to lead and manage the Builder/Architect sales function for the New Build Pilot, ensuring skylight adoption is embedded into builder and architect project specifications and driving measurable skylight sales. This role provides leadership, coaching, and strategy to the Builder/Architect Specialists and Inside Sales Support team, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, HBAs, and California market opportunities.

Primary Functions:

  • Team Leadership
    • Lead, mentor, and coach Builder/Architect Specialists and Inside Sales Support.
    • Set clear performance expectations, provide feedback, and ensure accountability for sales and specification KPIs.
    • Foster a collaborative, results-driven, and innovative team culture.
  • Sales Strategy & Execution
    • Develop and implement strategies to maximize skylight specification and sales across custom, regional, and national builders.
    • Partner with Sales, Marketing, Public Affairs and ComEx teams to align outreach with global initiatives.
    • Ensure consistent execution of presentations, events, and project integration across the team.
  • Market Engagement
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with regional and national builders.
    • Represent VELUX at HBA events, trade shows, and local community events to expand influence.
    • Lead team efforts in architect and builder networking, presentations, and collaboration initiatives.
  • Performance & Reporting
    • Analyze pipeline metrics, sales conversion rates, and specification outcomes.
    • Provide performance reports and insights to senior management.
    • Ensure CRM and lead management systems are fully implemented and utilized by the team.
  • Field Engagement & Account Management
  • Conduct in-person visits with architects, builders, and key decision-makers to support specification growth and strengthen strategic relationships.
  • Deliver high-impact presentations (AIA/Lunch & Learns, builder presentations, design reviews) to drive daylighting adoption in new construction projects.
  • Manage key accounts and oversee project pipelines, ensuring specifications convert to skylight sales in partnership with the regional sales team.
  • Support Specialists by participating in joint field visits, attending events, and modeling best-in-class project engagement practices.
  • Serve as the face of the New Build Pilot in the field, ensuring VELUX messaging, product positioning, and value propositions are consistently represented across all customer interactions.

Monthly Salary Range: $11,074 - $14,500. Compensation is based on the skills and experience of the candidate.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience managing a sales team, preferably in building products or project-based sales.
  • Proven track record of leading teams to deliver measurable sales results.
  • Strong knowledge of consultative/project sales and ability to influence multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent leadership, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and strategic planning skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM, and reporting tools.
  • Willingness to travel (up to 60 days per year).
