Position: Senior DevOps Engineer

Location: Campbell, CA / Remote USA (PST Time Zone)

Position Overview
 

We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to partner closely with development and engineering teams to build, deploy, and operate scalable, secure, highly available applications across cloud and on-premises environments.

This role requires strong hands-on DevOps experience, a passion for automation, and the ability to actively guide development teams through application onboarding, production readiness, and adoption of DevOps standards and best practices. Candidates should also be comfortable leveraging AI-assisted engineering tools and automation to improve DevOps efficiency, troubleshooting, and delivery velocity.


Responsibilities

  • Build, optimize, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab, Bitbucket, or similar platforms.

  • Partner with development teams to onboard applications and implement consistent DevOps, deployment, security, observability, and operational standards.

  • Guide development teams on production readiness, including HA, scaling, monitoring, logging, health checks, security, backup, and supportability.

  • Automate infrastructure, application installation, upgrades, backup, and operational procedures using Bash, Python, Terraform, Helm, APIs, and related technologies.

  • Manage Kubernetes, Rancher, Docker, and containerized workloads across cloud and on-premises environments.

  • Architect and support deployments across AWS, Azure, and GCP.

  • Implement monitoring, logging, performance monitoring, and alerting using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, New Relic, or similar tools.

  • Troubleshoot microservices and distributed systems including Kafka, RabbitMQ, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, and MongoDB.

  • Perform root cause analysis and continuously improve reliability, scalability, security, performance, and deployment processes.

  • Leverage AI coding assistants, LLMs, AI agents, and AI-assisted automation to accelerate scripting, infrastructure development, CI/CD, troubleshooting, log analysis, documentation, testing, and repetitive operational tasks.

  • Identify opportunities to safely automate DevOps workflows using AI while maintaining appropriate validation and engineering oversight.


Requirements

  • Strong experience supporting 24Ă—7, highly available production environments.

  • Strong Bash and Python scripting and automation skills.

  • Strong Docker, Kubernetes, Rancher, and Helm experience.

  • Experience with Kubernetes certificate management, TLS, and service mesh technologies.

  • Strong CI/CD experience, preferably with Jenkins.

  • Strong Terraform and Infrastructure as Code experience.

  • Experience with AWS, Azure, and GCP.

  • Experience with Kafka/RabbitMQ and SQL/NoSQL databases.

  • Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, New Relic, or similar observability platforms.

  • Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.

  • Demonstrated experience working directly with development teams to onboard applications and drive adoption of DevOps processes, standards, and production-readiness requirements.

  • Experience using AI-assisted development or DevOps tools to improve engineering productivity and automation.

  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
