 Senior Operations Subject Matter Expert (Mission Command Exercises)

Position Summary

The Senior Operations Subject Matter Expert (SME) provides senior-level operational expertise supporting the planning, development, execution, and assessment of Mission Command Exercises. This position advises government leadership on Special Operations planning, operational design, exercise realism, and training effectiveness while leveraging extensive SOF operational experience.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide operational expertise for Mission Command Exercises.
• Develop realistic Special Operations scenarios.
• Advise exercise leadership on operational planning.
• Support operational design and exercise development.
• Evaluate exercise objectives.
• Mentor exercise participants.
• Participate in after-action reviews.
• Prepare operational assessments.
• Coordinate with government exercise planners.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree or fifteen years of qualifying military experience.
• Graduate of the Special Forces Qualification Course or equivalent.
• Graduate of Intermediate Level Education, Senior Service College, Warrant Officer Advanced Course, First Sergeant Course, or Sergeants Major Course.
• Assignment to Special Operations Forces or qualifying military branches.
• Extensive operational planning experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Two years of Mission Readiness Exercise planning and execution experience.
• Special Operations headquarters experience.
• Joint operational planning experience.
