Job DetailsJob Location: Hemphill County Hospital - Canadian, TX 79014The IT Systems Administrator (Level 2) at Hemphill County Hospital District (HCHD) is responsible for providing onsite, Systems Administrator, and operational support for the hospital’s technology environment. This role requires a self-starter capable of working independently, ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of IT systems that support staff and patient care. The IT Systems Administrator will maintain IT infrastructure, assist in IT projects, and participate in the on-call rotation. IT Strategy and Planning • Participate in IT projects, system upgrades, migrations, and new technology implementations, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills. • Support the IT team in evaluating emerging technologies and recommending solutions that improve operational efficiency and patient care. Infrastructure Management • Maintain and troubleshoot hospital IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, storage, and cloud services. • Apply CCNA-level networking knowledge to troubleshoot connectivity, routing, switching, and other network-related issues. • Ensure the availability, scalability, and reliability of IT systems to support uninterrupted hospital operations. Security and Compliance • Implement and maintain IT security measures, including antivirus and endpoint protection (Sentinel One), to protect against cyber threats. • Monitor systems for security incidents and respond promptly to alerts, escalating as needed. • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, GDPR, and other applicable regulations for the protection of patient and organizational data. User Support • Provide Level 2 IT support onsite for hospital staff. • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and application issues for desktops, laptops, and peripherals. • Configure, maintain, and optimize desktops, laptops, and other endpoints. • Educate staff on IT best practices and workflow optimizations. Software and Hardware Maintenance • Manage software licenses, updates, and patches to ensure systems remain secure and up-to-date. • Procure and maintain hardware and peripherals to support hospital staff in their daily tasks. • Develop and maintain scripts in Bash, PowerShell, or Python to automate administrative tasks and support system monitoring. QualificationsEducation Minimum - High School Diploma or Equivalent Associate Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field. Preferred - Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university in related field.   Work Experience  Minimum - Minimum two years experience in IT leadership and systems administration roles and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience Strong knowledge of networking, system administration, and cybersecurity principles. Preferred - Office 365 Administration – user accounts, groups, mailboxes, security settings, and ongoing system management. • Consensus Cloud Fax • Mitel VoIP • Active Directory Services • Intune (experience preferred) • N-Central (RMM / patch management) • Sentinel One (antivirus) • Meraki Networking   Licenses & Certifications Minimum - CPR certification Preferred - Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CCNA, ITIL) may be required or beneficial   Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities 1.
