Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience.

· 5+ years of experience in environmental health and safety, regulatory compliance, or a related field.

· Experience maintaining and improving an ISO-based or comparable Management System.

· Working knowledge of applicable federal, New York State, and local environmental, health, safety, and workplace regulations.

· Ability to balance compliance requirements with operational and business needs.

· Strong interpersonal, communication, presentation, and leadership skills.

· Ability to communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, and senior leadership.

· Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.

· Excellent organization, project management, and attention to detail.

· Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, deadlines, and large amounts of information.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, including Excel.

· Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a strong work ethic and commitment to continuous improvement.

· Ability to work effectively in a changing, fast-paced operational environment.

Experience supporting industrial, manufacturing, warehouse, material-processing, transportation, or similar operations is strongly preferred. Familiarity with manufacturing equipment is a plus.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Lead, maintain, monitor, and continuously improve the organization's Management System.

· Ensure continued compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, internal standards, and company policies.

· Coordinate and participate in internal, external, and regulatory audits of facilities, programs, and operational processes.

· Present audit results, compliance findings, program updates, trends, and recommendations to leadership.

· Assess existing safety and compliance practices and develop improved tools, procedures, and processes.

· Establish and maintain operating procedures and monitoring protocols that may have an organization-wide impact.

· Recommend updates to policies, procedures, communications, and training based on audit findings, incident trends, regulatory changes, and operational needs.

· Document and manage nonconformities, corrective and preventive actions, management review meetings, inspections, emergency drills, equipment condition reports, and related compliance activities.

· Lead workplace injury and incident investigations, including root-cause analysis and corrective-action planning.

· Manage workers' compensation claims and coordinate return-to-work activities in partnership with Human Resources and operational leaders.

· Maintain accurate records relating to employee training, forklift certifications, safety data sheets, inspections, incidents, corrective actions, and regulatory compliance.

· Lead and support the organization's Safety Committee and communicate safety initiatives, findings, and results throughout the workforce.

· Partner closely with other departments to identify risks and create practical solutions.

· Provide technical and administrative support for environmental permits, regulatory reports, inspections, and compliance programs.

· Oversee applicable environmental programs, including universal waste, stormwater, solid waste, hazardous waste, and other regulated materials.

· Monitor performance indicators and use data to identify trends, measure effectiveness, and recommend improvements.

· Support employee and supervisor safety training and promote an engaged, proactive safety culture.

· Ensure company practices and services remain consistent with the organization's commitments to safety, , environmental responsibility, and regulatory compliance.

· Perform other responsibilities associated with the position as appropriate and directed by management.
