Position: Housekeeping Supervisor

Reports to: Housekeeping Manager

Job Summary: Assist the Housekeeping Manager to ensure all daily functions are completed.

  • Providing a high standard of customer service. High level of professionalism and remain open-minded at all times. They must listen to customer complaints and suggestions and provide constructive feedback to the staff.
  • Assigns workers their duties and inspects work for conformance to prescribed standards of cleanliness.
  • Investigates complaints regarding housekeeping service and equipment, and takes corrective action.
  • Obtains list of rooms to be cleaned immediately and list of prospective check-outs or discharges to prepare work assignments.
  • Coordinates work activities among departments.
  • Conducts orientation training and in-service training to explain policies, work procedures, and to demonstrate use and maintenance of equipment.
  • Inventories stock to ensure adequate supplies.
  • Makes recommendations to improve service and ensure more efficient operation.
  • Inspect rooms thoroughly. 
  • Performs cleaning duties in cases of emergency or staff shortage.
  • Inventories stock to ensure adequate supplies.
  • Advises manager, desk clerk, or admitting personnel of rooms ready for occupancy.

Physical Requirements:

  • This is a working position, rather than an administrative position. Hands on tasks take up approximately 70% (subject to change to meet business needs.) 
  • Required to work weekends, nights, and holidays as necessary. Must be flexible with the work schedule based on the demands of the business levels. 
  • Stand, walk, and work for extended periods of time. 
  • Lift, carry, and push up to fifty pounds and push cart weighing up to 250 pounds. 

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 2-3 years in housekeeping, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • Leadership: Strong ability to lead, train, and manage a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Customer Service: Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a focus on guest satisfaction.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work weekends, nights, and holidays; ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Attention to Detail: Keen eye for cleanliness and ability to ensure compliance with high standards.
