Job Summary

The Buyer II executes tactical and strategic procurement activities for natural gas midstream operations. This role manages medium-to-high complexity sourcing for pipeline materials and services, compressor station equipment, and specialized field services. The position ensures cost efficiency, company policy compliance, and operational support. 

Key Accountabilities

  • Manage RFPs, bid evaluations, and purchase order (PO) issuance for midstream equipment and services
  • Source critical materials and services to support project requirements and maintain operations
  • Lead contract and price negotiations with suppliers to maximize cost savings and mitigate risk
  • Analyze quotes received, recommend supplier based on considerations of budget, schedule, quality, reliability of source, and urgency of need.
  • Participate on cross-functional teams to develop and implement cost effective procurement strategies
  • Maintain internal and external alliances and partnerships with business units and suppliers to achieve ongoing cost reductions, process improvements, and best practices
  • Take mentoring and direction from senior procurement staff as needed to implement sourcing goals
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3 years of procurement experience, specifically within the oil and gas industry.

Other Requirements:

  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft applications (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills consistent with the ability to identify key issues from a broad range of alternatives, and recommend optimal solutions for various situations
  • Strong written and oral communication skills; with an emphasis on accuracy and legal aspects of purchasing
  • Excellent organizational skill and attention to detail
  • Able to cope with multiple demands from leaders, internal clients, and external parties in a positive and even-handed fashion; displays a calm demeanor under pressure
  • Must live within a commutable distance from the office and work in-person.
