Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Position

What you'll do as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA):

  • Provide occupational therapy treatments under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist in accordance with the established plan of care.
  • Assist patients in improving their ability to perform activities of daily living and regain functional independence.
  • Implement therapeutic exercises and activities designed to enhance strength, coordination, balance, and mobility.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic techniques, adaptive equipment, and home safety recommendations.
  • Observe, document, and report patient progress and communicate any changes to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
  • Collaborate with nurses, physical therapists, speech therapists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care.

 

Who you are as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA):

  • Detail-oriented and organized with strong clinical observation and documentation skills.
  • Comfortable working independently while remaining an active member of an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program with a current Pennsylvania Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license, or the ability to obtain one prior to starting.
  • Current CPR certification or the ability to obtain prior to employment.
