Job DetailsJob Location: Reinhardt University - Waleska, GA 30183聽 聽Reinhardt University is seeking an experienced聽Full-time Campus Police Officer聽to add to our staff on our main campus in Waleska, GA.聽聽聽 聽Must be Georgia POST Certified.聽 聽聽 Position Summary:聽Provides crime prevention and safety services within the guidelines of federal, state, and local laws, and policies of the University. Reports to the Captain or other designated person and effectively works with Public Safety staff, other public safety agencies, faculty, staff, students, visitors, and guests to protect and serve the University community.聽Maintains visible presence on campus and provides timely response to incidents and calls.聽Provides parking and traffic monitoring enforcement and direction.聽Establishes and maintains a community-oriented approach to public safety and service to our campus community. 聽聽 Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:聽 聽 High School diploma or GED, Bachelor's degree preferred.聽聽 Prefer 1 to 3 years in public safety/law enforcement experience, preferably in an academic environment.聽聽 聽 聽聽 Primary Responsibilities/Essential Job Functions:聽聽聽 路聽Maintains peace and order by providing crime prevention and safety services.聽聽 路聽Performs on-campus safety services such as patrolling the campus, maintaining physical security, responding to emergency calls, providing traffic control, and conducting safety training.聽聽 路聽Issues parking citations and permits.聽聽 路聽Prepares incident reports and other public safety documentation as required.聽聽 路聽Assists with community focus planning, orientation programs, and University events.聽聽 路聽Serves as a public safety resource for students and University faculty and staff.聽聽 聽聽 Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:聽聽 路聽Considerable knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, county ordinances, University and departmental policies and procedures, traffic regulations, and investigative procedures.聽聽 路聽Familiarity with management and supervisory procedures.聽聽 路聽Proficiency in first aid, CPR, local geographical area, and self-defense techniques.聽聽 路聽Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and good public speaking skills.聽聽 路聽Demonstrated ability to work independently and follow lawful supervisory direction.聽聽 聽聽 聽聽 Other:聽聽 路聽Possess or have ability to obtain a valid GA operator/driver鈥檚 license.聽聽 路聽Irregular shift work hours and on-call hours are required.聽聽 路聽Have the ability to pass a background/criminal record check.聽聽 路聽Position requires Georgia P.O.S.T Peace Officer Certification in good standing聽聽聽 路聽Successfully passes a drug and alcohol screening and submit to random drug and alcohol testing throughout employment.聽聽 路聽Successfully completes a voice stress analysis or polygraph examination prior to employment or at any time during employment.聽聽 聽聽 Work Environment/Physical Requirements of the Job:聽聽Intermittent sitting, standing, stooping, crouching, walking, lifting of light and heavy objects, and using tools and equipment that require a high degree of manual dexterity. Work is performed in an office, automobile, and field sites with exposure to noise, diseases, chemicals, inclement weather, and may require use of protective devices.
