Purpose

Supervise the personnel, processing, scheduling, maintenance, safety, housekeeping, and training for an 8 hour production shift in the Conditioning/Finishing area to meet Harrison Steel Plant's mission statement of producing the highest quality alloy steel at the lowest unit cost. Required to work overtime, rotating shifts/ schedules, or weekends as per business needs.

 

Responsibilities

  • Safety & Environment - Provide a safe work environment and promote employee safety as the number one goal at Harrison Steel Plant
  • Productivity - Work to achieve higher asset utilization through improved reliability and scheduling efficiency.
  • Quality - Promote an understanding of customer needs and the necessity for delivering our products on time.
  • Maintenance - Increase the efficiency of the maintenance crews by providing direct supervision and support in the areas of job priorities, assignments, staffing, area cross training, delay reduction, breakdown support, schedule adherence, etc.
  • Continuous Improvement - Continue the development of technology and create the environment that encourages this in others and seek continual improvement. Promote aggressiveness and innovation to push the limits of normal operation.
  • Communication - Maintain good employee relations - represent the company to employees, customers and public.
  • Cost - Maximize potential of all resources.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent with 7 years of experience in manufacturing with 1 year of experience in a supervisory role preferred.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate in business management, technology, or related with 4 years of experience in manufacturing with 1 year of experience in a supervisory role preferred.
  • Bachelor in business management, technology, or related with 2 years of experience in manufacturing with 1 year of experience in a supervisory role preferred.
