JOB SUMMARY:
The Engineering Intern is responsible for providing support within the Engineering department. Â In addition, the Engineering Intern assists with design, analysis, and testing on multiple assigned projects within their related field of study.
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES may include:
• Provide support to lead Mechanical Engineers in tasks such as part and assembly design, engineering
    analysis and test, analytical modeling and simulation and support of final product test.
• Assist Lead Engineers on projects including creation of new drawings and machine layouts, creation of
    recommended spares lists, documentation of completed machines.
• Provide drafting support to Lead Mechanical Engineers using 2D or 3D CAD packages (Solid Edge and Pro-E
    – Colorado Only).
• Create engineering design guides and assembly instruction sheets.
• Update ISO documentation as needed.
• Standardization of documentation including updating older drawings into 3D models, standardizing part
    descriptions, consolidating common parts, creating standards for commonly used parts for interchangeability.
• Creation of spreadsheets and charts to document engineering productivity.
• Support the electrical engineering and R&D departments as needed.
• OEM orders: interpret custom specifications from purchase orders generated by sales, design from custom
    specs and plans, clarify process, investigate tolerances and missing dimensions, understand EDL, BOM development, etc.
• Documentation Development; Maintain project related documents, records and files initiate/create files,
    archive retrieval, provide literal  translations, adhere to drafting standards, document daily.Â
• Study supply chain and manufacturing processes through classic work measurement assessments (i.e. Time
    Studies, flow charting, and Standard Operating Procedures).
• Formally and systematically represent complete information for processes and functions studied by means
    of comprehensive data collection & documentation.
• Provide direct support to Industrial Engineering staff in daily analytical activities & projects through
    hands on participation in an office & production environment.
Additional responsibilities and duties may be assigned.Â
Minimal requirements for education, knowledge and experience:
• Full-time student enrolled in a four-year college or university.
• Pursuing a degree in related Engineering program or a related technical discipline.
• Excellent problem solving skills, and the pragmatic application of strong design theory and analytical skills.  Â
• Minimum GPA 3.0
This position requires the ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities in the following environment:
• Work schedule generally consists of 40 hours per week, which may include on-call status, evenings, and/or weekends.
• Required to sit or stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
