I. University Overview

III. Job Summary
As the Chief Academic and Planning Officer, this position is responsible for leading academic affairs, overseeing the institutional strategic planning process, and working with the University’s accrediting bodies and the Ohio Board of Regents.
IV. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides primary administrative leadership for academic affairs, faculty affairs, and associated support services including Distance Learning, Library Services, and the Registrar’s Office.
- Oversees budgets, resource allocation, and operational affairs for Academic Affairs.
- Chairs the Strategic Planning Committee and leads the institutional development of long-range strategic goals and initiatives that involve campus stakeholders in furthering the mission of Malone University.
- Leads the academic and co-curricular program implementation and assessment process in order to achieve timely program development and review in alignment with the University’s mission, Strategic Plan, marketplace, and enrollment objectives.
- Resources and supports faculty to balance their responsibilities of teaching, scholarship, and service.
- Submits recommendations to the President and Board of Trustees related to faculty promotion and tenure and sabbatical requests.
- Hires and oversees the supervision and evaluation of faculty and staff within Academic Affairs.
- Serves as administrative liaison to the Academic and Student Success Committee of the Board of Trustees.
- Serves on the President’s Cabinet and on other teams, committees, and task forces as assigned.
- Presides over all University commencement exercises and academic convocations.
- Represents the University to external bodies and constituents including corporations, program partners, and friends of the University.
- Reflects and embodies the institutional mission and Foundational Principles to co-workers and constituents.

VI. Education and Experience
- Doctoral Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Associate Professor
- Demonstrated leadership experience within their department or at the institutional level

- Work generally conducted in an office environment
- Evening and weekend work may occasionally be required
