Position Summary
Superior Dairy has an immediate opening for highly motivated individuals in our fast-paced Quality Department. We are seeking candidates for a full-time, in-person 1st Swing Shift QA Technician.
Shift: Swing Shift 1st/2nd Shift: (1st and 2nd shift). Candidates must be willing to work these shifts on weekends/holidays and as needed to cover other shifts occasionally.
Summary of Duties
- Aseptic sampling of incoming ingredients, packaging, finished products, and various areas/equipment.Â
- Sample other types of collections such as well water.
- Verification of compliance to standard operating procedures and assistance for operations in the enforcement of standard operating procedures
- Monitoring of process settings, material usage, and product weights
- Verification of compliance with food safety, customer expectations, product specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Determine of root cause, corrective actions, and follow-up
- Pre-operational inspection of processing equipment and environment
- Measuring and recording product temperatures.Â
- Calibrating temperature measuring devices.
- Perform lab tests (e.g., water hardness)
- Communicating evaluation results with operators and supervisors and follow up.
- Keeping detailed records and complete documentation in a timely, accurate manner. Recognize the importance of data collected and the interpretation of that data.
- Execute the Product Hold and Release procedures.
- End of shift reporting including deviations and corrective actions.Â
- Assist in taking and transporting samples to the lab and review of lab test results.Â
- Update forms and procedures filing
- Review incoming items certificate of analysis.Â
- Work with receivers and review results of incoming ingredients.
- Conduct GMP auditsÂ
- Conduct environmental testing and send samples to labÂ
- Review production and sanitation records, follow up on corrections, organize, store and scan records.Â
- Maintain QA supplies inventory logÂ
- Conduct verification checks on the lines assigned such as metal detector challenges.Â
- Maintain assigned food safety and quality programs
- Other assigned duties
Requirements:
- Effective communication with all levels of the organization, as well as customers and regulatory
- Team oriented, but able to work independently.
- Detail oriented, organized, and manages time well.
- Self-motivated and proactive, focused on the task at hand.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Gmail, Google Documents, and the use of digital camera Ability to train with new software (QA Studio, 3M LM1 Data Trending Software, Plant/Blow molding SPC, D365)
- Ability to train, use, and maintain various equipment: FTIR analysis of fat, LM1 for verification of equipment cleanliness, Metal Detector checking and verification, pH Meter, EZ Reader for antibiotic testing, and Thermometers.
