The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the safety, reliability, and operational readiness of production equipment and facility infrastructure in a manufacturing environment serving the electronics and semiconductor industries. This role is hands‑on and highly collaborative, supporting daily operations, preventive maintenance, machining of in-house tooling and support of new facility integration activities.

The ideal candidate is a team player who is technically versatile, safety‑minded, adaptable, self-motivated and willing to ask questions to further their understanding and suggest improvements.

Key Responsibilities

Facility Maintenance & Repair

  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on facility equipment, systems, and infrastructure, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, compressed air, DI water and building utilities.
  • Diagnose and repair facility equipment issues to minimize downtime and ensure uninterrupted manufacturing operations.
  • Utilize machine shop equipment to modify/repair equipment components and the machining of production tool plates on a Bridgeport.
  • Conduct day‑to‑day maintenance tasks such as inspections, adjustments, minor repairs, and general upkeep of the facility.
  • Provide recommendations for improvements in safety, quality and cost.

Process & Equipment Support

  • Assist operations teams with the routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and basic repair of manufacturing and process equipment.
  • Support equipment installations, relocations, and modifications in coordination with engineering, operations and quality.

Waste Management & Compliance

  • Assist with the management and handling of process waste, including hazardous and non‑hazardous materials.
  • Ensure proper storage, handling, labeling, and disposal of all waste containers in compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support audits, inspections, and documentation related to waste and facility safety.

Security & Facility Oversight

  • Serve as a backup to building security oversight, including access control monitoring and facility checks and responding to alarms.
  • Assist with facility opening/closing procedures, alarm coordination, surveillance and service‑related vendor interactions.

New Facility & Expansion Projects

  • Support new facility integration, expansion, or renovation projects.
  • Assist with commissioning of new systems, utilities, and equipment.
  • Participate in facility and equipment layout changes, infrastructure upgrades, process improvements and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

Required Qualifications

  • Experienced machining skills using Bridgeports and basic machine shop equipment required.
  • Military, technical or trade school training is preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in facility maintenance, manufacturing support, or a related technical role.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform hands‑on mechanical, electrical, and facility maintenance work.
  • Strong safety awareness and ability to follow documented procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a production environment.

Desirable / Preferred Skills

  • Machining or fabrication experience.
  • Electrical wiring and troubleshooting experience; licensed electrician strongly preferred.
  • Plumbing and mechanical systems experience.
  • Safety, environmental, or hazmat training (e.g., RCRA, OSHA).
  • Clean room experience or work in controlled manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with lockout/tagout (LOTO), preventive maintenance programs, and computerized maintenance management systems (MaintainX).

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to thirty-five (35) pounds as required.
  • Ability to work in manufacturing, clean room, and utility spaces.
  • Occasional off‑hours or weekend work may be required for maintenance, facility projects or responding to an alarm.
