Security Officer - Mall Patrol

As a Security Officer - Mall Patrol in San Mateo, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls and more .

As an unarmed patrol officer in a retail or mall environment, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and remain visible to help deter security-related incidents. Your role involves providing exceptional customer service, maintaining open communication with visitors and staff, and responding promptly to any concerns. You will contribute to a welcoming atmosphere by embodying our values of agility, reliability, and innovation, always putting people first and working collaboratively with your team while upholding the highest standards of integrity.

Pay Rate: $24.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, and staff by following security procedures and site-specific policies within the retail or mall environment.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, assisting with emergency response activities as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail or mall location, including both interior and exterior areas, to help to deter unwanted activity and observe for security-related incidents.
• Document and report any security-related incidents, suspicious activity, or maintenance issues encountered during patrols.
• Assist with access control by monitoring entrances and exits, and verifying credentials as required by site policies.
• Support the enforcement of property rules and regulations, addressing violations in accordance with established procedures.
• Provide information and assistance to visitors and tenants, helping to create a welcoming environment while maintaining awareness of potential security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• California Security Guard Card required.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
