INTRODUCTION TO ROLE    
The Dockhand is responsible for assisting the marina team in serving marina customers and guests by performing various tasks, including but not limited to general dock operations and assisting boaters. The Dockhand must work to maintain a safe and clean environment throughout the harbor and marina facilities and provide excellent customer service.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR   
Engaging personality, someone who is comfortable speaking with guests from all diverse backgrounds. Has attention to detail and communicates effectively and in a timely manner. 
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON   
- Provide DBYC members with the best experience possible
- Greet all customers in a manner that expresses a kind, courteous, and professional manner
- Help orient members and guests to the marina and facilities and answer other commonly asked questions
- Assist customers with general boating needs such as Ice delivery and dock line handling. 
- Maintain and clean restrooms, docks, walkways, grounds, and other areas designated by management.
- Ensure docks and equipment are operational at all times
- Comply with OSHA and environmental regulations and adhere to all site rules and expectations
- Availability to work overtime when required
- Ability to work weekends and holidays
- Other duties as assigned by the Manager    
- Safety and Environmental Responsibilities
- Follow Safety and Environmental rules and complete required related training.
- Wear proper personal protective equipment (may include safety glasses, gloves, life jackets, and/or hard hats) as required for the task or work area.
- Report all accidents, injuries, spills, and near misses immediately. 
- Marina Safety Course(s)

WHAT YOU BRING  Â
- Min 16 years of age with a valid driver's license!
- Must be able to swim
- Boating experience is a plus, but I am willing to train the right candidate.
- A boating or captain's license is preferred!
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment Â
WHAT IT TAKES (PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS)Â
- Working in slippery dock conditions
- Ability to see clearly, listen, write, and verbally communicate
- Moving fast, standing, bending, and squatting continuously
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
The hospitality environment is fast-paced, and at times, you may be required to cover or assist with tasks/job functions outside of the job you were hired for. We require each of our team members to have an All-Hands-On-Deck mindset. This means you may be tasked with other functions and are expected to complete them with the same level of enthusiasm and dedication as your normal job duties.
