About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Android / Kotlin Developer to design, develop, and maintain high-quality Android applications used in commercial kitchen equipment. This role requires strong hands-on experience with Android Java, growing expertise in Kotlin, and the ability to work with embedded controllers.

You will collaborate closely with firmware engineers, full stack developers, and hardware teams to build responsive, reliable, and scalable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain Android applications using Kotlin and Java
  • Develop modern UI using Jetpack Compose and traditional Android UI frameworks
  • Implement clean, scalable architectures such as MVVM, MVI, and modular design
  • Integrate applications with backend services using RESTful APIs and JSON
  • Implement device communication using MQTT and Modbus
  • Work with Android Jetpack libraries including Navigation, ViewModel, LiveData, etc.
  • Optimize application performance, memory usage, and responsiveness
  • Collaborate and work closely with cross-functional teams
  • Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Contribute to testing strategies, CI/CD pipelines, and release processes

Requirements

  

Required Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of experience with Android development in Java
  • 1–2 years of experience with Kotlin
  • 1+year of experience with Jetpack Compose
  • Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Java
  • Deep understanding of the Android SDK, UI/UX principles, and mobile best practices
  • Experience with modern Android architectures (MVVM, MVI, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience with Android Jetpack libraries
  • Experience working with remote data via REST APIs and JSON
  • Working knowledge of MQTT and Modbus communication protocols
  • Experience with Git or similar version control systems
  • Familiarity with custom views, animations, and transitions
  • Experience with performance profiling and memory management
  • Strong understanding of mobile testing strategies and CI/CD pipelines

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with ELO tablets or industrial/embedded Android devices
  • Experience working with connected devices, IoT platforms, or industrial applications

Soft Skills

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proven ability to plan, prioritize, and deliver tasks on schedule.
  • Experience with JIRA and Agile methodologies.
  • Comfortable working in dynamic, fast-paced environments and solving complex technical problems with minimal guidance.
