Registered Respiratory Therapist

Join a high-acuity, patient-centered team providing advanced respiratory care across the full continuum of treatment—from emergency intervention and critical care to recovery, rehabilitation, and patient education.

Our hospital provides advanced care for patients with complex conditions, including trauma and emergency medicine, stroke, oncology, cardiology, orthopedics, and surgery. As a Comprehensive Stroke Center and the region’s only Level II Trauma Center, our Respiratory Therapy team plays a vital role in caring for some of the most critically ill and medically complex patients in the area.

What You’ll Do

As a Registered Respiratory Therapist, you’ll work alongside physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality respiratory care to patients of all ages.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing comprehensive respiratory care across emergency, critical, acute, and recovery settings
  • Performing therapeutic, diagnostic, and mechanical respiratory procedures
  • Administering oxygen therapy and therapeutic respiratory treatments
  • Performing arterial blood gas (ABG) draws and analysis
  • Managing mechanical ventilation and advanced airway support
  • Providing airway management and emergency respiratory interventions
  • Supporting patients from emergency ventilation through recovery and rehabilitation
  • Educating patients and families as appropriate to support ongoing respiratory health
  • Performing procedures in accordance with established hospital and departmental policies and standards
  • Maintaining demonstrated competency and proficiency in assigned respiratory care modalities

Requirements

Education: Associate degree required. Bachelors degree required to perform the duties of a Technical Consultant.

Experience: No experience required. New graduates of accredited COARC Respiratory Therapy program accepted.

Certification: Credentialed by the National Board for Respiratory Care as an RRT. BLS required. ACLS, PALS, and NRP required as appropriate to population served and/or specialty.
