Job Purpose

Recovery Support Aides’ (RSA) are responsible for the facilitation and delivery of treatment services accordingly to an established schedule of structured program activities. RSAs shall ensure a therapeutic environment which is productive, meaningful, and is provided in a manner that is appropriate for the clients with the treatment setting.

Qualifications                    

  • Possession of a High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Must have strong interpersonal social skills; able to remain calm in emotionally charged settings
  • Possess, or ability to possess, a Missouri Class “E” Chauffeur’s Driver’s License
  • Meet the minimum requirements to be clinically privileged by FCC Behavioral Health                                                                                               

Core Job Duties

  • Monitor and facilitate group activities (educational and recreational) according to program schedules using a group facilitating format and group material that engages the client.
  • Provide continuous supervision of clients to ensure compliance and report any physical and/or emotional changes to the proper staff members. Coordinate crisis intervention services, as needed. 
  • Monitor vital signs, urine analysis, self-administration of medication and search of clients as required. Some sites require medication administration.
  • Serve as a positive role model through professional appearance, therapeutic communication and respect for self and others.
  • Assist in identifying and assessing strengths and needs of clients.
  • Assist in the transportation of clients to and from scheduled activities, as needed.
  • Monitor and maintain facilities and storage areas for cleanliness and the working condition of equipment. Cleans, adjusts, and moves items to proper areas.
  • Adherence to all applicable evidence-based practice models. 
  • Orally communicate information effectively and accurately. 
  • Assure program operates within the constraints of the agency’s certification (CARF, DMH/ASAM) standards and strategic plan related to clinical care.
  • Abide by program and agency policies and procedures.
  • Other job duties and special projects as assigned.
