Reports To:聽 聽Restaurant Supervisor, Food and Beverage Director
Supervisory Responsibilities: 聽聽None
Position Overview: Serve food and beverage items to customers in a friendly, enthusiastic, professional and timely manner.
These duties may be described as, but not limited to:
路 聽 聽 聽聽Take orders for and serve all food and beverage requests, using suggestive selling techniques to up sell as much as possible. 聽Clear tables during service. 聽Control guest checks and secure proper payment.
路 聽 聽 聽聽Ensure station and table set ups are complete and perform various side duties as assigned by the Outlet Supervisor
路 聽 聽 聽聽Maintain proper condition and cleanliness of dining areas and servicing equipment.
路 聽 聽 聽聽Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. 聽In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.
路 聽 聽 聽聽Run food to all tables per kitchens direction.
路 聽 聽 聽聽Detail sections, tables and polish silver and glassware.
路 聽 聽 聽聽Additional duties as necessary and assigned.聽
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
路 聽 聽 聽聽Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
路 聽 聽 聽聽Must possess basic computational ability.
路 聽 聽 聽聽Must possess basic computer skills.
路 聽 聽 聽聽Knowledge of the appropriate table settings and service ware.
路 聽 聽 聽聽Ability to describe all menu items, prices and methods of preparation. 聽Also the ability to use suggestive selling techniques to encourage guests to choose items that are house specialties.
路 聽 聽 聽聽Most work tasks are performed indoors. 聽Temperature generally is moderate and controlled by hotel environmental systems; however, must be able to work in extreme temperatures like freezers (-10潞 F) and kitchens (+110潞 F), possibly for one hour or more.
路 聽 聽 聽聽Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 4 hours in length.
路 聽 聽 聽聽Must be able to exert well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously.
路 聽 聽 聽聽Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach other departments of the hotel in a timely manner.
路 聽 聽 聽聽Must be able to lift trays of food or food items weighing up to 30 pounds on a regular and continuing basis.
路 聽 聽 聽聽Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited space and to reach other locations of the hotel in a timely manner.
路 聽 聽 聽聽Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited space.
路 聽 聽 聽聽Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and subordinates.
Minimum Qualifications:
路 聽 聽 聽聽High school or equivalent education required.
路 聽 聽 聽聽Two years experience as food server in full service restaurant is required. 聽Customer service experience preferred.
路 聽 聽 聽聽All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance per the Virginia standards.
