Network Specialist, Virtualization expertise (Warsaw, near-site) – Frontex

Profile: 1x Network Specialist Virtualization (Local Area Networking, Wide Area Networking, Cloud Networking, Data Center Networking, Network Management, SDN)- Level Advanced.

Place of performance: 50% on-site / 50% remote. Onsite service provision at Frontex Headquarters in Warsaw.

Duration of the mission: 50 months.

Security Clearance: EU Confidential required (security screening procedure must be initiated within first 45 days of assignment) - CONFIDENTIEL UE/EU CONFIDENTIAL.

Minimum level of education: Level 4.

Minimum English language skills: B2.

Minimum IT relevant experience: 5 years of experience in similar roles.

Award Criteria: 40% Price / 60% Quality.

Minimum required scoring for interview: 60%.

Travel: Only in exceptional cases.

Rate: 300€/day NWH 392,4€/day EWH/ 6€/hour OnC.

· Estimated NWH: 220days x 3 years + 250days 4th year.

· Estimated EWH: 15days x 4 years.

· Estimated On Call hours: 1300h x 3 years + 1500h 4th year.

Required technical certificates:

At least following certification is required:

· [1] Cisco CCNA certification or equivalent from other network vendors.

· Or an equivalent alternative certification recognized internationally (subject to acceptance as a valid credential by the Contracting Authority).

Knowledge and Skills

Knowledge:

· [01] Very good understanding of TCP/IP protocols and IP routing

· [02] Very good understanding of Ethernet switching protocols

· [03] Good knowledge of network services like DNS, DHCP, NTP, etc.

· [04] Good understanding of the wired and wireless access technologies (wifi, 802.1x/EAP etc.)

· [05] Good understanding of the application-layer authentication and encryption mechanisms, e.g. HTTPS/SSL/TLS protocols, PKI and X.509 certificates

· [06] Hands-on experience with the products and solutions related to the domain (e.g. Cisco routers and switches, wireless controllers, network firewalls etc.)

· [07] Hands-on experience in administering of a large enterprise network

· [08] Good knowledge of the network configuration of the endpoint operating systems (Windows, Linux, IOS etc.)

· [09] Work experience with stateful and stateless traffic filtering

· [10] Very good analytical and trouble-shooting skills

Specific expertise

· [01] very good knowledge of the VMware NSX-T platform.

· [02] very good understanding of VMware ESX networking (e.g. distributed switching/routing/microsegmentation).

· [03] good knowledge of other virtualization platforms (Nutanix, Proxmox, etc).

· [04] good knowledge of network-level encryption (e.g. IPsec, IKE, DMVPN).

· [05] hands-on experience in configuration and troubleshooting of the Palo Alto next-generation firewalls and Panorama management system.

· [06] hands-on experience in managing Cisco Nexus and Catalyst switches.

Tasks and Responsibilities

· Administer, monitor and troubleshoot IP networks.

· Administer the structural cabling system.

· Performing changes in physical and logical network configuration, installing and removing devices, cabling connections etc.

· Provide 2nd line support to Frontex system and network users.

· Create and update the technical documentation and operating procedures.

· Advice possible network improvements, changes or upgrades to the network infrastructure.
