Must-haves:
7+ years of systems engineer experience with Windows and VDI
Experience in engineering, managing, and supporting environments involving VDI (Citrix, RDS), and Microsoft Desktop
In-depth knowledge of Windows OS internals and group policy
Experience in engineering, managing, and supporting Virtualization Platforms (VMWare ESX, RedHat OCP)
Experience with PowerShell as their primary scripting technology
Previous enterprise-level experience
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Advantage to have:
Experience in engineering, managing, and supporting Server platforms (Windows Server 2016+)
Previous experience working in a financial institution
Day to day:
The candidate will be primarily working on VDI and Windows 11 products, such as virtual applications and virtual desktops. Additionally, the candidate will be more aligned on the Microsoft operating system side/desktop operating side and will be engineering on-prem. 70% of the role will be focused on BAU tasks such as deploying new versions of Citrix and Windows, upgrades, and maintaining Windows environments/virtual desktop infrastructure across 80,000 machines globally, whereas 30% of the role will be focused on providing and deploying sustainable and configurable solutions for the existing platform following any escalations from BAU tasks. As such, engineering and scripting experience is required to not only provide support where necessary but also to provide infrastructure solutions if issues were to arise with deployments.
