Compensation

  • Associate (Provisional) Salary: $70,000 – $75,000
  • Fully Licensed Salary: $75,000 – $80,000

Calo Programs is seeking a compassionate and skilled Mental Health Therapist to join our on‑site clinical team supporting Adolescents and Young Adults ages 9-21 years old in a trauma‑informed residential treatment environment. This role is ideal for therapists who are passionate about adolescent mental health, family systems work, and experiential therapy models—and who want to make meaningful, long‑term impact.

 

We are actively recruiting for our program in Lake of the Ozarks, looking for candidates seeking a rewarding opportunity or a relocation to a scenic, lower‑cost‑of‑living community.

Responsibilities

Provide Individual, Family & Group Therapy

  • Deliver therapy grounded in trauma‑informed care, systemic family therapy, and relational approaches that promote sustainable change.

Manage a Personalized Caseload

  • Maintain a focused caseload of 6–8 clients, allowing for high-quality care, family programming, and ongoing parent coaching

Work in a Multidisciplinary Treatment Environment

  • Partner with therapists, medical providers, nurses, and direct‑care teams to create and implement comprehensive, holistic treatment plans.

Complete Timely Clinical Documentation

  • Ensure accurate, compliant, and deadline‑driven documentation to support continuity of care.

Provide Developmentally & Culturally Competent Care

  • Use evidence‑based practices tailored to the unique psychological needs of adolescents and teens.

Incorporate Experiential & Residential Therapies

  • Utilize Adventure Therapy, Animal-Assisted Therapy, and experiential modalities — including the opportunity to integrate our Golden Retriever‑based canine therapy program into sessions.

Qualifications

Required Licensure (Full or Provisional)

  • Fully Licensed:

    • LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor)
    • LMFT (Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist)
    • LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker)
  • Provisional Licenses (Supervision Provided):

    • PLPC (Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor)
    • PLMFT (Provisional Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist)
    • LMSW (Licensed Master Social Worker)

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to establish a CAQH profile
  • Ability to obtain an NPI (National Provider Identifier)
  • Passion for working with teens and young adults
  • Experience with residential treatment, trauma work, experiential therapy, or systemic/relational modalities preferred
