We are currently seeking a friendly, motivated, and detail-oriented Optician to join our team in Carbondale, Illinois. Position Summary As an Optician, you will play an important role in helping patients achieve their best vision by assisting them in selecting eyewear that meets their prescription, lifestyle, and personal style. You'll provide exceptional customer service while ensuring accurate measurements, proper fittings, and a positive patient experience from start to finish. Essential Responsibilities Welcome patients and assist them in selecting frames and lenses that best meet their vision and lifestyle needs. Accurately measure pupillary distance (PD), segment height, and other necessary optical measurements. Educate patients on lens options, premium lens technologies, coatings, and frame materials. Recommend products that best fit each patient's visual needs, lifestyle, and budget. Adjust, repair, and fit eyewear to ensure comfort and proper alignment. Process eyewear orders and verify prescription accuracy. Maintain attractive frame displays and manage optical inventory. Collaborate with providers and fellow team members to deliver outstanding patient care. Provide exceptional customer service while creating a positive patient experience. Qualifications Previous optical experience is preferred but not required—we are happy to train the right candidate. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong customer service and sales aptitude with the ability to confidently recommend optical products. Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment. High school diploma or equivalent required.
