Job Description
Essential Job Functions:
- Â
Supervise and coordinate the work activities of hourly production employees to ensure quality and production goals are met.
- Â
Provide daily defect feedback to production employees and management, ensuring transparency and timely corrective action.
- Â
Interpret, communicate, and enforce company policies and safety regulations.
- Â
Establish and adjust manpower to meet production schedules and quality requirements.
- Â
Maintain accurate time and production records.
- Â
Administer disciplinary action as needed, in alignment with company policies and the collective bargaining agreement.
- Â
Inspect products to verify conformance to specifications; assist in problem resolution and general maintenance of machinery as needed.
- Â
Recommend improvements to enhance efficiency, production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
- Â
Set up and oversee containment activities when required.
- Â
Communicate shop floor problems and defects to appropriate personnel responsible for root cause analysis and corrective action.
- Â
Develop and execute inspection and testing schedules for new launches.
- Â
Ensure adherence to the collective bargaining agreement.
- Â
Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Â
Support the achievement of quality and management objectives by ensuring compliance with quality policies, procedures, and processes.
- Â
Initiate actions to prevent nonconformance related to product, processes, and quality systems.
- Â
Identify and document any issues related to the product, process, or quality system.
- Â
Control further processing, delivery, or installation of nonconforming product until deficiencies are corrected.
Qualifications
- Â
Bachelor’s degree in applied science, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Â
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Quality Assurance within manufacturing, preferably automotive; or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
- Â
Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Â
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Â
Effective problem-solving abilities and analytical skills.
- Â
Experience working with quality management systems (QMS) and conducting quality system audits.
- Â
Demonstrated ability to take ownership of decisions and accountability for outcomes.
- Â
Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, develop, and motivate hourly personnel.
