As an integral member of The Northern Lighthouse, Inc. team, the BHP at Safe Harbor Home provides compassionate, structured supervision and support for foster children awaiting placement. This position offers youth a safe, stable, and nurturing environment during a difficult transition while they wait for a long-term foster home. Staff provide care for up to three children at a time in a structured setting, helping maintain routines, ensuring safety, encouraging positive behaviors, and creating a supportive atmosphere where children feel respected and cared for.


Responsibilities:
Provide attentive supervision and care for children in foster care awaiting placement.
Create a safe, structured, and supportive environment.
Assist with daily routines, meals, activities, hygiene reminders, and bedtime routines as appropriate.
Build positive, professional relationships with youth through patience, empathy, and consistency.
Maintain appropriate documentation and communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
Ensure confidentiality of all children and families.
Maintain all required certifications, trainings, and agency policies.
Work collaboratively with coworkers to provide consistent, high-quality care.


Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (Required)

Valid Drivers License (Required)

Ability to pass all required background checks (Required)

Willingness to become BHP Certified (Agency Paid)
Completion of required agency orientation and training
Enjoy working with children and adolescents
Patient, dependable, flexible, and able to remain calm in challenging situations
Ability to work effectively as part of a team


Schedule:
We are currently hiring for:

  • Morning Shifts
  • Afternoon/Evening Shifts
  • Overnight Shifts ($1.00 differential; hired separately—day staff are not expected to rotate into overnight coverage


Job Type:
Part-time and Full-time opportunities available

Pay: $20.00 per hour
