Trout Gallery - EducationJob Summary/Basic Function
The Post-Baccalaureate Fellow in Museum Education will be considered a professional member of the Museum’s education staff. Under the supervision of the Curator of Education, the Fellow will research works of art, develop interpretation materials, and deliver community programs. The Fellow will also work on other projects related to Museum Education and Interpretation. Ongoing professional development provided by our experienced Museum staff and professionals within the field ensures that the Education Fellow leaves the program with extensive experience teaching and programming for a variety of audiences, and with a completed professional teaching portfolio.
Essential Functions:
Under the supervision of the Curator of Education, develop and deliver education programs to K-12 school groups and audiences enrolled in summer programs.
Manage reservations, student staffing, materials, and work spaces used for extramural group programs.
Manage museum community days and on-site events including Saturday programming.
Assist The Curator of Education in managing campus programs that introduce the Dickinson community to museum studies and The Trout Gallery.
Manage the museum’s participation in selected local festivals and events.
Assist The Curator of Education in developing teacher-training programs for Dickinson students working in Education at The Gallery: mentor and provide feedback regarding art education.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree - Studio art education, art education, museum studies, art history or related field
A valid driver’s license and access to or ownership of a car is necessary for weekly offsite programs
